Serving dinner at the retirement home tonight, one of the residents had guests eating with him. He called me over and said, “Sruli, would you mind showing my friends some of that computer animation you’re working on?” I gave them a quick pitch, and they loved it! BH! One of them asked for my autograph. She was joking. But still…
Now that the President has brought same-sex marriages to the forefront, my Democrat friends have wanted to know my opinion as a politically Conservative, Torah-observant Jew. It’s true that the Torah prohibits homosexuality, as it prohibits violating the Sabbath, and eating shellfish. I personally choose not to do those things, but don’t believe people should be discriminated...
Working at the retirement home half my week. Producing a holiday special the other half. The one thing they have in common: lots of people forget conversations you had recently.
Had a wonderful Shabbes, with lots of great people and lots of meaningful discussions. We even got into “The Shawshank Redemption” at the 3rd Meal. There’s a line: “An ice age here, million years of mountain building there. Geology is the study of pressure and time. That’s all it takes really, pressure, and time.” There are so many truths to that movie, but...
Just had a whole discussion about “The Three Amigoes.” What a brilliant, PG-rated masterpiece. Bummer that the live-action world seems to have lost the love for that kind of narrative - which leaves much innuendo up to the imagination. If the Abishter permits, I’d like a shot at making those kinds of films again…

I don’t know how good the movie will be, but the design is excellent. Great feel.
Rambam was awesome today.
My wife told me this really interesting scenario that she saw a friend post on Facebook - if someone could take a departed loved one, perfectly replicate them, & give them a perfect copy of their memories. Would we want or accept them as being our loved one? No. Because the soul of a person is so much more than their body, or the information contained in their minds. The soul is the essence...
#Omer22 Chesed of Netzach
Today we can start working on our Netzach (Victory, Willpower) by developing a love and attraction to positive thoughts, words, and actions. When we think good, speak good, and act good - we can literally overcome any obstacle. Shavua tov!
Today we counted 20 days of the Omer. Yesod of Tifferes. In laymen’s terms: when expressing truth, beauty, or compassion to someone else, you first have to establish a connection with the recipient - so they will be open to receiving.
A Chassidic Meditation
The fruit that grows on a tree is the part that is growing most distantly from the roots. Yet is the most beautiful and most living part of the tree. So too, our physical reality is actually the furthest in a long line of parallel dimensions that extend upward in conciousness, not space. Like the roots are hidden from the rest of the tree, the Source of all existence is hidden from us. We can...

EAGLES WIN!!! That was perhaps the greatest comeback I’ve ever seen. 28 pts in 7 minutes.
Michael Vick makes things happen.
Giants are looking unbelievable.
The good news is, the Eagles have another half to play. The bad news is they have another half to play.
On a technical level, “Tangled” was flawless - the animation some of the best I’ve seen. I felt the story was slightly undercooked, though.
Getting ready to watch “Tangled.” I remember a few years ago being blown away by the 1st animation leaked online. Stoked 4 finished product.
@eagles win! Tough game, fellas - but you made the big plays when you needed to.
Eagles’ defense looks so BAD.
Happy Hanukkah, Night 2 … we always gotta keep adding to the Light.

It’s amazing how well the original theatrical version holds up. Yoda is a pretty low-tech puppet, but the performance is a powerhouse.
Watching “Empire Strikes Back,” in memory of Irvin Kirshner, a cousin of my great uncle.
I wish I had a dollar for every great Leslie Nielsen line. I’d be a very wealthly man.
That was a fumble, Bears.
Never thought my Macbook Pro would need a whole reinstall, so I never backed up the hardrive. HUGE mistake. Praying the data recovery works.
May we all be blessed to see the teachings of the Holy Baal Shem Tov reach the furthest that can possibly be reached.
Tonight is the 19th of the Hebrew month of Kislev, when Rabbi Shneur Zalman was granted heavenly permission to let the Wellsprings flow.
Matisyahu has an AMAZING new song out for Hanukkah this year - Miracle. Very poppy, very catchy. http://ping.fm/tRo7X
Bummer: I got sick every half-hour last night. Non-bummer: I watched “Spies Like Us.” They don’t make comedies that that anymore.
My good buddy Josh November’s poetry collection, “God’s Optimism.” Don’t know much about poetry, but I love his: http://bit.ly/cp5KAG
Would love to be at the CTN Expo. Hope to be there next year!
Today being my Hebrew birthday, I’d like to bless everyone with the ultimate, revealed Goodness, both physically & spiritually.Have a gr8 1!
Lots of kvetching about the “Green Lantern” preview in all of the industry blogs. I thought it looked fun.
If the Eagles can score two more touchdowns, they’ll break the alltime high score for regular season, and tie the playoff high.
Long night for the Redskins. Yowza.
Pittsburgh’s got three high-profile movies being released this month - current #1, “Unstoppable,” being one of them. Awesome.
Please don’t ask me to recap the last 4 days in LA, it would just take too long. Suffice it to say, they were very, very good. BH.

Went to sleep at 10, completely knackered - way earlier than my usual 12. Woke up at 4:30, wide awake. Kinda like it, though.
Tonight is the yarzheit of the great R’ Shlomo Carlebach. May we all be blessed to hear sweet, new melodies from Reb Shlomo in Yerushalayim!
Good Shabbes to all, and to all a gut nacht!
Watched Wallace and Gromit “The Wrong Trousers” tonight - trying to get a sense of story structure and pacing for a 30 minute short.

Goodnight Philly sports phans. Tonight we sleep as winners.
The first five minutes of “Megamind” were great! And I really didn’t care for the trailers at all. Trailers are a lost art.
